PHILOSOPHY
Dr. Joseph F. Alvarez understands that a dentist appointment doesn’t rank at the top of the “favorite things to do” list for most people. For some, it is a stressful situation- so stressful that patients may avoid seeking treatment. That’s why he works just as diligently to alleviate fears and inconveniences for his patients as he does to remedy their dental problems.

This is especially evident in the way he has equipped and staffed his office. He strives to provide an environment that expresses warmth and comfort. It is also seen in the training he has undergone and continues to pursue.

Services offered include periodontal therapy, oral cancer screenings, root canals, cosmetic restorations (including porcelain veneers, onlays/ inlays and crowns), conventional crowns and bridges, partial and complete dentures, and implant restorations.

BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Alvarez’s journey began in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Alvarez received his undergraduate degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas Dental School at San Antonio in 1986 and moved to Atlanta shortly after. By 1990, he had purchased his first dental practice in Smyrna.

Friends and family are important to him as he spends alot of his time with them. His laid-back easy going nature belies a busy schedule that includes participating on co-ed softball and flag football teams, and playing golf. He has also built from the ground floor with his brother, Anthony, a thriving wine store and wine bar. In his "spare" time he loves his hobbies of woodworking and landscaping.
